March Poised to be a Busy Month for Chelton Self Storage

Chelton Self Storage, a leading Colorado Springs self storage facility, recently announced two major events that are happening in March. The company, which offers a wide selection of self storage units right in Colorado Springs, will be holding a storage auction on March 10 and attending a major trade show on March 14, 15 and 16. "It's funny how things happen," says the facility's manager, John Cruz. "We've wanted to hold a special auction event for some time, and this major trade show just happens to be taking place during the same month."

The auction will begin at 10am on Saturday, March 10, and is modeled exactly after the types of auctions that are featured on the hit A&E show "Storage Wars." During the event, the contents of 14 units will be up for auction. "Anyone who's seen the show will know exactly how it works," says Cruz. "It's possible to spend a very small amount of money and end up with some very valuable things." Winners of previous auctions have ended up with units that contained furniture, jewelry, tools and other valuables. "One person got a unit with a car, and another person got one with a motorcycle," adds the manager.

Right on the heels of the auction event, employees of the Colorado Springs self storage facility will head over to Las Vegas for the Inside Self Storage World Expo. The event is the biggest one in the storage unit rental industry, and it is being held at the Paris Hotel & Resort. More than 35 seminars about self storage units and related topics will be featured during the event. "This is definitely a huge deal in the self storage unit industry," says one employee. "It's a great opportunity to learn about the latest storage unit rental trends."

While March is going to keep Chelton Self Storage and its employees on their toes, the company has no plans to kick back and relax for the rest of the year. "We're always dreaming up new ways to keep things interesting," says John. "Shows like 'Storage Wars' have put our industry in the spotlight, and we're thrilled by all the interest that people have in storage units these days." The facility plans to hold additional auctions in the future.
